Its a beautiful day in new york, around 20 degress, sunny and most importantly not humid!
I walked through nolita to the showroom this morning, as we are packed with appointments.
I saw a woman walking down broadway (near prince street) towards the financial district, wearing a laminated A4 picture around her neck- of a smiling fireman in a fire helmet, I wondered if it was her brother, husband, boyfriend or friend, he was handsome, smiling, proud. I guess he died in the 9/11 attack. I should have asked her who he was, but she seemed happy, walking towards 'ground zero'. Emotions are strange, I don't know what she's thinking, what she's been through, what moved her to laminate and wear that picture - but I'm happy she did, it made me think and reflect on life - and on something that has been spoken about so much!
I think there's a lot of people going to be at ground zero today, I might go down myself this afternoon.

Today I went to the CITY magazine re-launch party at the new museum, on the bowery,
Love the new museum, the space is amazing, especially the lime green lifts.
The City magazine new edition features photography by Mick Rock, a great couples shoot… Mick was telling me all about it when he was shooting our “nobody was thirsty” project. Mick is such an amazing guy and great inspirational talent, so im looking forward to catching up with him tonight for a few drinks…

I have seen their products art-meets-fashion in some fantastic stores all around the world, but I have never thought to look up their site!
Well it is a fantastic smorgasboard of great design, you really really have to take a look.

Woke up late and the streets are already dry, that's new york for you, just basically worked all day.
Except its my cousins 18th coming up so I spent half the day 'designer earing shopping' strangely fun for someone who knows nothing about jewellery,
I just met Pierre Toussaint, the australian phtographer, nobody contibutor, and my friend for a beer at Schillers in the LES, he is in nyc making a documentary,
I rush home as 6.30 sunday is 8.30 mon morning so my darling prasana is going to be emaling me any minute!

Melbourne spring fashion week
Hanae (range co-ordinator), Monica (design Manager), Leonie (designer) and I went to RMIT University fashion show Sarah Fisher (our Intern) had her final year collection shown on the runway at Melbourne Town Hall. The show was fantastic and creative we all enjoyed it.
After the show Hanae, Monica and I went to cookie for a few drinks and have something to eat. Hanae ordered a long island ice tea, Monica had Campari and I had Little Italy (which I never heard of but it’s good and strong eehhhh….), of course we also had few others before we headed to rooftop.
On the way to rooftop we took a picture from the photo booth (half drunk, me and Monica).

New York Fashion Week
Its raining, hot steamy nightmare.
I hate the heat at the best of times, and when its raining yikes I can't cope!
Today its still the wrath of 'hanna' and the streets are awash, ankle deep, the drops are huge. I'm on my way to the agent provocateur party at cipriani, and I'm wearing a silk-wool sharkshin blazer, it shows every drop of water, one of those fabris that's like blotting paper, every drop gets magnified 10 times, so even though I have an umbrella I look like I'm soaked to the skin buy the time I arive.
The crowd is as beautiful as you'd expect, and includes rachel hunter, its a collaborative show with 'lingerie miami' www.lingeriemiami.com
a new fashion week for lingerie raising money for charity.
The lingerie miami show is in benefit of women living on under a dollar a day, the charity is based on the 'power and femininity of the lingerie industry', and uses all funds for micro-financing projects helping women to earn their own living. A great cause and well worth a visit to their website to take a look.
I had a few cocktails with my friends Fumiko and Nozomi and then headed home to do some work.

Went along to the duckie brown show today, Nobody shares a showroom in new york with the Duckie boys and i have always been a fan of their mens tailoring and attention to detail. They really are in a world of their own. I received the invitation “THE MAIN DUCKIE” on florescent yellow plastic, (each season follows an obtuse theme, an in house secret they boys keep closely guarded), the show was at the famous Bryant park tents and luckily, i had a front row seat. The collection this season was just amazing, the best from the boys i have seen in the 5 years or so ive known them. Polished cottons, and perforated suiting, mixed back with athletic spandex layering, all in monochrome blacks and greys, with splashes of the florescent colours. Later that night went to the Duckie after show at Socialista, it was PACKED, I had a few v and o’s and congratulated steven and Daniel, the duckies themselves. Then headed off to the FORM party in the Lower East side, this party was also packed but i was a bit over it, and i think by the time i arrived the B&T crowd were infiltrating, so i walked ome, the rain was just starting as “tropical storm hanna” was encroaching, by the time i got home it was in full force.

Finally its raining, the tail end of hurricane Gustav swept through last night, bringing a bit of relief from the heat, I was at the after party for the 'duckie brown' boys show, at 'socialista' and by the time we made. Downtown to the 'form' afterparty in the LES it was pouring, luckily I live just 3 blocks from the form party venue. When I woke up today it was still raining, but I feel great, a sense of calm and relaxation I need. I love the rain. Here is the view from my fire escape.

Hot as hell in new york today, I've been working til 4am everyday on the phone with australia, and then phone meeting with nick the director of nobody, he has been on holiday in germany and just catching up every day ! And if you know nick, then you'll know there's been some crazy stories.

My cousins have gone, back to the UK, and now my mate Gio Black Peter is staying with me again for a couple of days.
So the apartment is full of art – “works in progress”
He has a show coming up on Friday (exhibition) and Saturday (performance of black peter group) in Tokyo
So if youre in Tokyo head over. Gio will be totally nuts, I promise.

I've found the worst bar in vegas, its a piano karaoke bar with old people and all trashy people - so at least I've livened up a bit! Strong Rum coke and trashy 21 yo blonde girls singing 'paradise by the dashboard light' and old couples singing 'that's all i ask of you' hahahahaa My idea of perfect afternoon.

I've taken a week off work - its my fabulous cousin debs birthday so she's come from my hometown, rugby uk, for a week.
I've done a lot of tourist things that I've never done in new york, helicopter rides, empire state, walking the brooklyn bridge, sleeping lots and drinking more. Here's a few snaps from my - as they say in the usa - 'staycation'

So we've all been working together over the past days.
Checking out the New York scene, ..... i.e : The shopping ( I've gone VISA Crazy ) My new favourite thing is my Alexander McQueen bag which i purchased at the meat packing district.
We've also been working with our PR and Sales showroom and also discussing and working on the creative for the next season.

Today is our photoshoot.
Leonie, Wes and I head to the venue to meet our photographer Trevor O'Shanna, The hair and Make up team and all the models.
The 3 of us tagged tag teamed the entire day. I fell sick and in true hollywood style had to call a doctor to the shoot to inject me with pain killers and muscle relaxers! not so glamorous
